and now for something mundane

I was doing some woodwork 9 days and got a splinter in my finger. So I pulled it out. My finger still hurt afterwords and it got kind of swollen. I figured it was infected. After 6 days of sorefingeritus I decided to probe into the situation. Using a somewhat dull sewing needle (sterilized by flame, of course) I sort of dug into my finger a bit where the sliver was. All of a sudden another sliver popped out. The bugger was 8mm long. I had a freakin’ 8mm long liver stuck in the end of my finger. Damn thing was almost as long as my finger was thick.
