Last weekend I finally finished my DYI antenna project. I built a Gray-Hoverman without a reflector since we’re so close to the local transmitters.
I’ve been playing around with Wake On Lan on my network for quite some time. Wake on Lan is a system whereby remote computers can wake up other computers that are sleeping.
As I’ve written about before, I’ve set up a NAS (network attached storage) for our home by installing FreeNAS on an old PC.
I’ve recently become aware of a strong movement that is pushing the idea that global warming (anthropogenic global warming, or AWG) is not happening.
The new web browser called Chrome came out from Google yesterday (beta version) and I’ve had a chance to use it a little bit.
I’m a big fan of tagging photos once they are downloaded to the PC. Proper data management of digital media is critical for efficient use.
Today is a monumental day for me in many ways. Well, actually only one way. I finally finished recording and archiving all of my vinyl records.
yeah, it’s another boring post on the NAS saga. Who knows, maybe someone reading this will actually learn something useful.
What a day. First I had to fix the internet (props out to the Cisco crew, thanks for the help!), then reactor #3 went offline, and to top it off I had to put the kids to bed.
I got FreeNAS up and running without too much work started to transfer some files to the new share I created.
